I can relate to a lot of this. When you start really thinking about the family dynamics and the roles everyone over time has assumed, sometimes you just want to shake your head. Kind of like, huh, it's true, I'm always the one who clears out the dishwasher; i don't know why, don't know when it began, really don't think it's fair, but that's what I do; and everybody expects me to continue doing it.
At the same time, as much as you'd like to alter some of the evolved rules, you realize that, if you try, you might just cause more trouble for yourself and the "balance" that exists than you'd want. So...you just kind of let things be.

Life is not just, because we can add that women also must be beautiful, well dressed, perfumed, in a good mood and never complain (whatever is the situation!). I liked your story Lenseview....so true, so well described! Even for the dog!!!LOL I am not sure that men would like to change their roles and the rules...
