Here's another super-helpful how-to from Mahalo guide Nicole...no, I don't have kids myself, but these tips will make everyone's flight a little more enjoyable -- for parents, kids and their cabin neighbors alike.

I have several relatives spread out across the country that have small children, and they're always flying. I'm sending this to all of them.

I don't fly that often, and I don't have kids... but I am proud of the work my peers are doing at Mahalo.com, where I work! Check it out.

Look, how many times have you been on a 4 hour flight and some lady behind you can't control her annoying brat of a child? I'm willing to bet everybody has experienced this at least once. Heck, it's one of the reasons why I question even having children :) If you know somebody with kids send them to this... regardless of how angelic you may think their kids to be.

Some good suggestions, but, after recently flying with my youngest daughter ((3 yr old out of CHI - 3 hour delay on tarmac)) I have resigned myself to the fact that: sometimes NOTHING works. If a 3 yr old is tired of a 3 hr delay, is it their fault? The advice to use smaller airports rings true in this area.
I can also state from experience that I am totally shocked by how poorly some flight attendants behave: 3 hour delay ON the plane, and the attendant would NOT allow my daughter to stand up on our laps and play with the air vent?
I personally like the breast feeding for relaxation idea...I might be able to fall asleep afterwards.

How to fly with kids...don't.
nice article but to read comments here its all like rocket science. Seems like a long list of common sense.
I usually consider I drew the short straw when I sit within one seat of a small child on a flight. If things work out, I consider myself fortunate.
