Preschool children should certainly be exposed to good music but in a less formal setting than private lessons. You can find a wealth of different activities more appropriate to the mind-set and attention span of a 3 or 4 year old. It is never too early to begin to expose your children to music.

    Good common sense article. As a father of a five year old, I've seen lots of parents who constantly push their kids into new activities. I think outside activities are fine, but kids need time to just be kids, without having to rush off to practice or a lesson.

      I've been playing hand drums for my 9 month old - he loves it!

      I think the kid's got potential! :)
